What’s New in Motorola’s Android 16 Update?
According to Motorola, this Android 16 update prioritizes “simplicity, security, and connectivity.” One notable addition is Notification Auto Grouping, which intelligently bundles similar alerts from the same app to prevent notification overload.
The Instant Hotspot feature lets users activate a hotspot on their Motorola phone directly from an Android tablet or Chromebook when logged into the same Google account. Motorola also states that the user interface and system settings have been refreshed.
Expanded battery insights are another key addition, providing users with detailed information on battery health, device diagnostics, and component health monitoring.
The Android 16 update also introduces support for Modes such as Sleeping, Driving, and Working. Users will also have quick access to Advanced Protection settings, enabling them to use anti-theft tools and identity checks directly from the Settings app.
Currently, the Android 16 update is limited to the three Edge series devices. Motorola has not yet announced plans to expand the update to other flagship models like the Moto Razr Ultra, or budget-friendly Moto G series phones, but further rollouts are expected soon.
