HCLTech joined AWS as a launch partner for the European Sovereign Cloud initiative. According to the company, this separate cloud region will operate entirely within the EU and cater specifically to public sector organizations requiring enhanced regulatory oversight and data residency controls.

HCLTech was chosen for the partnership based on multiple factors, including its established experience managing regulated environments across Europe and its existing relationship with AWS as a Premier Tier Services Partner. The company brings capabilities spanning security, networking, cloud resilience, high-performance computing, managed security services, and generative AI to the partnership.
The AWS European Sovereign Cloud addresses growing demand from European governments for cloud infrastructure that maintains data sovereignty and compliance with stringent EU regulations. HCLTech‘s involvement provides public sector organizations with a trusted partner experienced in navigating complex regulatory frameworks while modernizing critical infrastructure on cloud platforms.
HCLTech will begin onboarding public sector clients to the AWS European Sovereign Cloud platform. The company plans to leverage its regulatory expertise and AWS partnership to support government organizations transitioning workloads to the sovereign infrastructure while ensuring compliance with EU data protection and security standards.
