Machine Games is celebrating its 15th anniversary with a free update for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. The anniversary update introduces a highly anticipated New Game+ mode, along with several other enhancements and fixes, giving players more reasons to dive back into the globe-trotting adventure. The update is now available on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Xbox Game Pass.

What’s New in the Anniversary Update

The free anniversary update includes three major features:

  • New Game+ Mode: Replay the story with unlocked perks and items
  • New Outfit: Indiana Jones’ jacket-free look from Raiders of the Lost Ark
  • Voice Language Selection: Mix and match voice and subtitle languages

New Game+ Mode: What Carries Over

The addition of New Game+ is a significant feature, allowing players to experience the story again with previously unlocked perks and items. This encourages replayability and offers a fresh perspective on the game’s narrative and challenges.

The New Game+ mode unlocks after players complete the main story. Upon starting a new game in this mode, players retain:

  • Unlocked Adventure Books
  • Adventure Points
  • Local currency
  • Medicine bottles

This allows players to tackle challenges with a significant advantage, encouraging exploration and experimentation. Machine Games has also added a brand-new ending sequence exclusive to the New Game+ mode, offering a unique reward for those who complete the game a second time.

Voice Language Selection Feature

Another notable addition is the Voice Language Select feature. Located in the Audio tab of the game’s settings, this feature allows players to mix and match any of the nine available voice languages with any of the fourteen text languages. This caters to a global audience and provides players with greater control over their audio-visual experience.

For example, players can enjoy the original English performances with subtitles in their native language, or experiment with different language combinations for a unique experience.

Performance Improvements

Power Saving Mode (Xbox Series X|S)

The update introduces a new Power Saving mode for Xbox Series X|S consoles. When activated, the game will enter a power-saving state if the controller is idle for a certain period. During this mode:

  • Resolution will be lowered
  • Frame rate will be limited
  • Energy consumption reduced

As soon as the controller is moved again, the game will exit the power-saving state. This feature is designed to reduce energy consumption and prevent overheating during extended periods of inactivity.

Handheld Device Detection

The game now automatically detects if it’s being played on a handheld device, adjusting the video quality settings for better performance on those devices.
