Battlefield 6 Update 1.1.3.6 Adds Stability Fixes
DICE is rolling out another patch for the ongoing conflict in Battlefield 6, but this one is less about new firepower and more about tightening the bolts. It’s a maintenance update aimed squarely at improving the core experience. What changed most: Title Update 1.1.3.6 is a targeted strike against bugs and stability issues, with a specific focus on fixing lighting glitches on the Eastwood map and smoothing out gameplay in the REDSEC Battle Royale mode.

  • Platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S
  • Release:
  • Price: Free update for game owners (Base game price varies)
  • Developer: DICE
  • Genre: First-Person Shooter

According to the developer, this is a small update designed to address player-reported issues and enhance game stability. Don’t expect any major performance boosts; the patch notes make it clear that the focus is on fixing what’s broken rather than overhauling systems. Based on my experience with similar maintenance patches, these are often the updates that make the biggest difference in the moment-to-moment gameplay, even if they don’t look flashy.

The changes target several key areas. Movement has received a tweak to fix inconsistent sprint-jump momentum, which could give players an unintended speed boost or reduction. The REDSEC Battle Royale mode is also getting significant attention, with fixes for problems during insertion, faulty parachute behavior, and UI errors related to redeployment. Finally, players on the Eastwood map should see an end to some bizarre visual and lighting bugs that could trigger green and purple effects or even a total lighting blackout during destruction events.

DICE provided a full changelog detailing every fix and adjustment. Here are the official release notes for Update 1.1.3.6, which you can expect to download automatically on Steam and the EA App.

While a bug-fixing patch might not generate the same hype as a new map or operator, it’s a welcome sight for the dedicated player base. These are the kinds of quality-of-life improvements that show the developer is listening to community feedback. The fixes for the REDSEC Battle Royale mode, in particular, address pain points that can ruin a competitive match, while the console-specific crash fixes for Xbox and connectivity improvements for PlayStation 5 are crucial for maintaining a stable experience on those platforms.

If you’re a regular Battlefield 6 soldier, this update is for you. It’s designed to sand down the rough edges that may have cropped up in your recent sessions. While it won’t fundamentally change the game or bring lapsed players back into the fold, it demonstrates a continued commitment to polishing the experience. For those who have been frustrated by weird lighting glitches or insertion bugs, should bring some welcome relief.
