Crimson Desert Gains Intel Arc GPU Support
Pearl Abyss has finally rolled out official support for Intel Arc GPUs in Crimson Desert, three weeks after the game’s launch. The latest patch adds Intel’s XeSS 3.0 upscaling technology and Frame Generation feature, addressing a critical gap that sparked backlash from Arc GPU owners.

Intel Arc Support Arrives With Patch 1.03.00

The latest hardware update delivers Intel Arc GPU compatibility alongside performance enhancements across gameplay, UI, graphics, and rendering. According to the release notes, both discrete and integrated Intel Arc solutions are now supported, though initial reports revealed glitches that the new patch aims to resolve.

Patch 1.03.00 also introduces AMD Radeon Anti-Lag 2, expanding GPU support beyond Intel hardware and signaling broader optimization efforts across the graphics stack.

The Road to Intel Arc Compatibility

At launch, Crimson Desert did not support Intel Arc GPUs, a decision that drew significant player frustration. Rather than promising a fix, Pearl Abyss initially recommended users request refunds, suggesting the developer might abandon Arc support entirely. This stance prompted Intel and Pearl Abyss to collaborate on an official solution.

Within days of launch, the companies announced plans to implement proper Arc GPU support. Early adopters confirmed the game became playable on Arc hardware, but performance remained inconsistent with occasional bugs. The new patch represents a more polished iteration.

XeSS 3.0 and Frame Generation Now Live

The update adds Intel’s proprietary upscaling technology and Frame Generation to Crimson Desert’s settings menu. XeSS 3.0 allows Arc GPU owners to improve frame rates while maintaining visual quality, while Frame Generation uses AI to synthesize additional frames between rendered ones.

These features give Intel Arc users performance tools comparable to Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR, leveling the playing field for owners of Intel’s discrete graphics cards in this demanding title.

Arc GPU Support Signals Industry Momentum

Intel Arc’s inclusion in Crimson Desert reflects growing developer adoption of the GPU line. As reports confirm, the game is finally playable on Intel Arc hardware, though continuous optimization will follow through future updates.

Pearl Abyss’s commitment to ongoing improvements suggests Arc GPU support will mature over time, making Crimson Desert a showcase title for Intel’s graphics ecosystem as it competes in a market dominated by Nvidia and AMD.
