Helldivers 2: Redacted Warbond Leaks with Lava Planet
A recent leak by YouTuber Dripku has revealed details of the upcoming “Redacted Regiment” Warbond. According to the leak, highlighted by Fandom Wire, this Warbond will emphasize stealth tactics with a range of new weaponry and gear designed for covert operations. The weapons include the R-72 Censor Supressed Marksman Rifle and AR-39 Suppressor.
This Warbond is set to include the following:
- R-72 Censor Supressed Marksman Rifle: A marksman rifle designed for silent takedowns.
- AR-39 Suppressor: An assault rifle with a built-in suppressor.
- P-35 Re-Educator: A support weapon that fires darts with confusion and damage-over-time effects.
- TM-1 Lure Mine: A mine that attracts enemies before detonating.
- G-89 Smokescreen Grenade: A grenade that creates a cloud of smoke for cover.
- B/MD C4 Pack Stratagem: A stratagem that deploys six remotely detonated C4 charges.
The armor sets included in the Warbond are the “RS-100 Sanctioner, RS-67 Null Cipher, and RS-89 Shadow Paragon,” each offering a “Reduced Signature” passive. This passive reduces noise made while moving by 50% and reduces the range at which enemies can detect the wearer by 40%. This will encourage a new style of gameplay for Helldivers.
Perhaps the most visually striking aspect of the leak is the gameplay showcased on a new lava planet. This planet, resembling Mustafar from Star Wars, features a scorched landscape where Helldivers will face enemies amidst fiery terrain. The introduction of lava biomes has been hinted at previously.
This new environment presents unique challenges and opportunities for gameplay. Players will need to adapt their tactics to survive the extreme heat and navigate the hazardous terrain. The addition of a lava planet will add a new dimension to the Helldivers 2 experience.
The release of the next Warbond, including the “Redacted Regiment” content, has been subject to some delays. While Arrowhead personnel originally suggested no delay, CEO Shams Jorjani later confirmed that the Warbond was postponed to allow the team to focus on addressing performance issues with update 4.1.0. The release date remains uncertain.
Arrowhead is currently prioritizing performance improvements and bug fixes before releasing new content. The studio has acknowledged the need for significant work to address technical debt and optimize the game. They have warned fans that it will take “many months” to meaningfully improve performance and reach their desired “new normal.”
Focusing on stability and performance is a crucial step for Helldivers 2. While new content is always welcome, addressing the game’s technical issues will ensure a smoother and more enjoyable experience for all players in the long run. This will allow Arrowhead to add new content without creating further issues for the game.
