The joint research hub was officially launched by 0G CEO and Co-founder Michael Heinrich and NTU Vice President Professor Louis Phee. This isn’t just about theoretical research; it’s about building scalable infrastructure for open AI systems.

0G, backed by over US$325 million in committed funding, including a US$40 million seed round led by OKX Ventures, Samsung Next, and Animoca Brands, brings significant resources to the table. The initiative will be jointly led by NTU Associate Provost and Dean of the Graduate College, and Dr. Ming Wu, 0G Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer. Their teams will focus on developing decentralized computing architectures and secure AI marketplaces that reward contributors for data and computing resources.
This highlights a critical aspect of decentralized AI: incentivizing participation. By creating marketplaces where individuals and organizations can contribute data and computing power, the initiative aims to foster a more diverse and robust AI ecosystem.
