A Regional Hub for Cyber Research
The Innovation Center of Excellence was unveiled during Commvault’s SHIFT Dubai roadshow at the Museum of the Future. The facility serves as a regional hub for cyber resilience research and innovation, with dedicated workstations and demonstration areas that showcase Commvault’s cyber resiliency capabilities through real-life scenarios.
The center will host executive, customer, and partner engagements, creating a unified collaborative ecosystem that brings together government entities, critical infrastructure operators, universities, startups, and global technology partners.
Hands-On Training for Modern Threats
The center features simulated production environments where organizations can practice responding to AI-driven attacks and recovering complex applications. Users can work through scenarios involving entire cloud workloads and identity systems like Active Directory, gaining practical experience in real-world recovery situations.
A key component is the regional Commvault Readiverse environment, which includes flagship simulations such as Minutes to Meltdown and Minutes to Recovery. These tools allow government agencies and enterprises to experience live cyberattacks and recovery scenarios in realistic conditions, strengthening preparedness against modern threats.
Unlike traditional security approaches that focus on detection, this platform emphasizes recovery. Participants can experience compromised backups, execute recovery plans, and rebuild environments under stress, gaining invaluable experience before facing actual incidents.
Building the Next Generation of Talent
Commvault and the UAE CSC will support the development of the next generation of cyber resilience professionals through a self-paced e-learning program. University students gain access to industry-aligned training and can earn the Commvault Practitioner Certification.
This educational initiative directly supports the UAE‘s national cybersecurity priorities by building a skilled workforce equipped to handle modern threats. The next generation of cyber resilience professionals will emerge with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
A National Priority
H.E. Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity for the UAE Government, underscored the significance of this initiative. He stated that cyber resilience is a national imperative, and it requires more than the ability to defend. It requires the capacity to recover.
Al Kuwaiti noted that the Centre of Excellence advances this capacity by bringing enterprise-grade recovery simulation and structured talent certification to the UAE‘s government entities. The center represents a concrete step toward building a digitally sovereign nation prepared for current and future threats.
Fady Richmany, Corporate Vice President for Emerging Markets at Commvault, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership. He noted that the initiative will reinforce the UAE‘s position as a global leader in cybersecurity innovation and demonstrates the country’s commitment to building resilient digital infrastructure.
