Two Major Characters Head to the Abyss
The headline feature in this update is that both Oongka and Damiane can now enter the Abyss. This change also relocates Memory Fragments for rematchable bosses, opening up new farming opportunities for players looking to optimize their builds.
Beyond that, both characters are getting cosmetic love. New outfits drop, and dyeable equipment options expand significantly. The update adds 39 new pieces for Kliff and Oongka, including the notable Tarandus the Ashen outfit. Damiane receives 8 new equipment pieces. You’ll find this gear scattered across quests, achievements, and shops.
A nice quality-of-life addition: pets will now rest on beds alongside your character, and you can toggle a new “Hide Minimap and Status” option to boost immersion during exploration.
Combat Gets More Dynamic
Muskets and pistols can now fire while sliding, giving combat a more fluid, action-packed feel. Axiom Force during soft lock-on can activate immediately on targets, cutting down on animation delays during heated engagements.
Wyvern flight animations have been polished across the board, making aerial movement feel tighter and more responsive.
Stability and Polish Pass
This patch focuses heavily on backend improvements. Crashes that occasionally triggered when opening the map or during boss rematches have been squashed. The overall experience should feel noticeably more stable now.
Bug fixes and adjustments:
- Counter Stance can no longer be used with a flag equipped
- Characters won’t be controllable during loading screens
- Rowboats no longer sink briefly, wagons won’t disappear mid-transport
- Character switch displays improved
- Non-dyeable items won’t show in the Dye UI selection
- Only the currently tracked quest displays on minimap border
- Necklaces no longer clip through certain helms
- Various weapon and outfit appearances refined
- Localization errors fixed across all languages
- Graphical anomalies and object interactions smoothed out
Pearl Abyss continues refining the game’s foundation with each update. While this patch doesn’t introduce groundbreaking new systems, it solidifies the experience for players already invested in Crimson Desert and removes friction points that were holding back enjoyment.
