PS5 Low Energy Mode Now Available
The headline feature brings energy efficiency to PlayStation 5 players. Low Energy Mode reduces console power consumption during gameplay by limiting background processes and lowering system resource usage during idle and low-intensity moments. The feature aligns with Sony Interactive Entertainment’s “Road to Zero” environmental initiative.
Players can enable the mode anytime via Settings, then Display & Performance, then Power Management. When active, the feature delivers reduced power draw during gameplay and idle states, slightly lower fan activity, and reduced system temperatures. Arrowhead confirmed core gameplay performance and online functionality remain unaffected.
Xbox Fixes Target Connectivity and Party Issues
Xbox players receive targeted stability improvements in this update. The patch resolves an issue preventing players from inviting others to games after previously leaving a session. Additionally, Arrowhead fixed several desync and loading problems that occurred when a host invited multiple clients or when a blocked client hotjoined a host already in a party with another client.
Known Issues Persist Across Multiple Systems
The update does not resolve all outstanding bugs. Audio is missing for the Enthusiastic Mirth emote, while the Double-Edged Sickle weapon emits an unwanted high-pitched drone during firing. Hive guard legs display incorrect armor values, and some Helldivers cannot manually climb in locations where auto-climb functions properly.
Gameplay issues continue affecting objective completion. Network desync can prevent SEAF Artillery shells from inserting correctly, causing objective softlocks. Destroying the Airbase Control Tower with a portable hellbomb before the objective calls for destruction also triggers softlocks. Melee kills fail to register in end-of-mission and career statistics.
Additional problems include weapon customization not displaying accurate sway and reload time stats until purchase and equipment, city defend events showing incorrect Super Earth controlled city biomes, and certain attachments not reflecting stat changes in preview mode. Explosives can cause Helldivers hidden behind terrain to ragdoll unexpectedly, and the Gunships and Shriekers fail to spawn during operations with appropriate planetary effects present.
What Players Should Know
The Low Energy Mode represents a quality-of-life addition for PS5 owners seeking reduced power consumption without sacrificing performance. Xbox players gain immediate stability benefits, though several long-standing bugs remain unaddressed. Arrowhead has not announced a timeline for additional patches, though the studio indicated future fixes will appear on the official tracker.
The patch size remains unspecified, though Arrowhead described it as a minor download. Players across all platforms can access the update now through standard system update mechanisms.
