Anthropic, in partnership with CodePath and Social Finance, has launched Claude Corps, a $150 million national fellowship program. The initiative will train 1,000 early-career workers in artificial intelligence and place them inside U.S. nonprofits for a 12-month, full-time, paid placement.
Why Anthropic Built This Program
Claude Corps is designed to give early-career workers hands-on AI experience at a time when AI is reshaping entry-level job requirements across the board. At the same time, it gives under-resourced U.S. nonprofits access to dedicated AI talent that can help them use Claude for operations, programs, and service delivery.

Who Can Apply as a Fellow
The fellowship is open to a wide range of candidates, with no degree required. To qualify, applicants need to meet the following criteria.
- Be over 18 years old with less than two years of full-time work experience
- Hold valid authorization to work in the US
- Be comfortable working with Claude and AI tools generally
- Be willing to relocate if the host organization requires an in-person or hybrid setup
- Submit an application by July 17 for the first cohort
Selected fellows will be employed by CodePath at an $85,000 annual salary plus benefits, fully funded by Anthropic for the entire 12-month term.
How Nonprofits Can Host a Fellow
U.S.-based 501(c)(3) organizations that are already Claude for Nonprofits Team or Enterprise customers can apply to host fellows. Here is what is required.

- Designate a senior sponsor and a day to day supervisor
- Apply for up to four fellows, with Anthropic recommending at least two for the best experience
- Submit a host application by July 17 to be considered for October 2026
Host organizations receive a full-time fellow with covered salary and benefits, Claude access, and direct implementation support. This includes a one-time $10,000 implementation grant and up to $2,500 in Claude licenses and API credits per fellow.
Training and Support for Fellows
Fellows go through structured training before placement and continue receiving support throughout the year.
- Initial training covers prompt design, building with Claude and the Anthropic API, and running AI evaluations
- After placement, fellows get roughly five hours of structured training each week
- Mentorship comes from a CodePath mentor
- Technical support is available through Anthropic office hours
- Fellows receive an expanded Claude token budget
- Host organization managers provide ongoing professional guidance
Most of a fellow’s time goes toward solving real operational and programmatic challenges for their host nonprofit, such as building triage tools for case managers or summarizing inspection reports.
What Comes Next
The first cohort of around 100 fellows begins in October 2026, with the remaining 900 expected to join cohorts starting in January 2027 and August 2027. Social Finance will lead measurement and evaluation, tracking fellows’ skill growth, career progression, and the impact felt by host organizations through assessments, surveys, portfolio reviews, and alumni follow-ups.
Anthropic has said it plans to open source the training curriculum, host playbook, and core infrastructure so similar programs can be built elsewhere.
