Forza Horizon 6 Targets 4K at 30 FPS on Xbox Series X
Microsoft and Playground Games have revealed performance specifications and accessibility features for Forza Horizon 6, the upcoming racing simulator launching on Xbox and PC. The announcement includes dual performance modes tailored for both Xbox Series X and S, along with heritage rewards for players returning from previous Forza titles.

Dual Performance Modes Target 4K and 60 FPS Across Xbox Hardware

Forza Horizon 6 will support two distinct performance configurations on current-generation Xbox consoles. Performance Mode prioritizes frame rate, delivering 60 FPS at 4K resolution with dynamic upscaling on Series X and 1080p with dynamic scaling on Series S. Quality Mode shifts focus to visual fidelity, targeting 30 FPS at native 4K on Series X and 1440p with dynamic scaling on Series S, both with enhanced graphical features. Players can toggle between modes based on their preference for smoothness versus image quality.

Comprehensive Accessibility Suite Expands Player Inclusivity

The title incorporates a robust suite of accessibility options designed to accommodate diverse player needs. Developers integrated AutoDrive for hands-free navigation, Proximity Radar for spatial awareness, High Contrast mode for visibility, and colorblind filters to support players with color vision deficiency. Cut-scene support includes ASL and BSL interpreters. Additionally, offline mode allows players to adjust game speed, enabling younger players and those with limited mobility to compete on equal footing with difficulty settings.

Preload Now Available; Legacy Rewards Unlock for Returning Players

Preloading is live for preorderers and Game Pass subscribers through the Microsoft Store and Xbox app. According to Playground Games, veteran players will receive exclusive car unlocks tied to their previous Forza history. The 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray rewards Forza Motorsport players, while Forza Horizon 5 veterans unlock the 2021 Mercedes-AMD ONE. Earlier franchise participants receive the 2016 Aston Martin Vulcan (Horizon 4), 2016 Lamborghini Centenario LP 770-4 (Horizon 3), 2014 Lamborghini Huracán LP-610-4 (Horizon 2), and 2013 Dodge SRT Viper GTS (original Horizon). These vehicles appear automatically in player garages after completing the introductory mission.

Cross-Platform Accessibility Extends to PC Players

The official launch of Forza Horizon 6 will include PC support with comparable performance options. Players can begin preloading now via the Microsoft Store or Xbox app, with physical edition buyers able to download the title remotely through smartphone access. This streamlined preload system ensures players are ready immediately upon release.
