Beast of Reincarnation looks incredible on PC. Dense forests, abandoned cities reclaimed by nature, detailed lighting that shifts with the time of day. But that beauty comes with a performance cost. Running this Unreal Engine 5 game smoothly isn’t about dropping everything to Low. It’s about making surgical cuts to the right settings while keeping the visuals that actually matter. We tested version 1.0.5.0 across multiple GPUs to find the sweet spot.

The Core Strategy: Upscaling Is Mandatory

Here’s the hard truth. Pushing Beast of Reincarnation at native resolution with High settings will leave you staring at frame rate drops. Upscaling isn’t optional—it’s the foundation of any smart optimization.

On NVIDIA RTX cards, use DLSS Quality. For AMD cards, use FSR Quality. If you have older hardware without either option, TSR (Temporal Super Resolution) works as a solid fallback. It’s slower than FSR 3, but it produces a sharper, more stable image than Performance mode.

Crucially, if you’re on an RTX card, force DLSS Preset K. The game ships with the older Preset E by default. Preset K delivers noticeably better motion clarity in combat situations, exactly where you need it most. Don’t use newer presets like L or M, even though they sound advanced. 8GB VRAM Requires Specific Setup

If you’re running an RTX 3060 Ti, RTX 4060, or similar 8GB card, VRAM management is critical. Push too hard and you’ll get stutters that feel like the GPU is choking.

Set VRAM Limit to 1/2, not 2/2. This keeps texture streaming manageable and prevents the system from trying to allocate more memory than exists. Pair this with Texture Quality 3/3 for good asset detail without memory pressure.

The difference is noticeable. A 3060 Ti at VRAM Limit 2/2 will hit the 8GB ceiling during boss fights or dense forest areas, creating hitching. Drop to 1/2 and the same scenes run smoothly.

Post Processing Is Your Secret Weapon

Most players ignore Post Processing. That’s a mistake. Setting it to Low removes aggressive film grain and chromatic aberration that make the rendered image appear softer than it actually is. You’re not losing detail; you’re revealing the detail that’s already there.

This change requires no INI file editing and takes one click. It’s a pure visual win with zero performance cost.

Shader Compilation Stutter Is Normal

Beast of Reincarnation compiles shaders on first launch, when loading new levels, and asynchronously during gameplay. This causes CPU spikes and temporary frame drops, especially in the prologue. This is not a sign your settings are wrong. It’s the engine doing its job. The stuttering improves after the first few hours of play as more shaders compile.

Quick Reference: Settings to Avoid

  • Don’t use Ray Tracing enabled. The visual benefit doesn’t justify the FPS cost in this game
  • Don’t run Highest preset on 8GB GPUs. You’ll hit VRAM limits during combat
  • Don’t set VRAM Limit to 2/2 on 8GB cards. Stick with 1/2
  • Don’t force newer DLSS presets like L or M. Preset K is optimized for this game’s Lumen implementation
