Campaign Set Between Two Mainline Games
The Division Resurgence takes place chronologically between the events of The Division and The Division 2, positioning players as newly activated Division Agents restoring order in New York City. The Green Poison has destabilized the city, and violent factions are vying for control across the urban landscape.
The campaign features both returning enemy factions and new threats. Players will encounter franchise veterans like Raiders, Rikers, and Cleaners alongside the Freemen, a new faction that weaponizes scavenged materials and prioritizes resource hoarding. The story supports solo play or cooperative missions with up to three teammates.
Five Specializations Shape Your Combat Role
Character progression revolves around five distinct Specializations, each granting signature weapons and unique gadgets:
- Demolitionist
- Bulwark
- Field Medic
- Tech Operator
- Vanguard
Players can switch Specializations mid-mission to adapt to situations or complement squad composition. Loadout customization includes looting and crafting weapons and gear, with full modding and upgrade systems to personalize builds.
Three Core Gameplay Modes Offer Variety
Beyond the campaign, The Division Resurgence delivers competitive and cooperative endgame content. Conflict mode pits players against each other in map control matches, while the Dark Zone returns with its signature PvPvE extraction gameplay. Players enter alone or as a team to loot high-end gear while managing threats from NPC factions and rival agents.
Post-campaign activities include the Legendary Challenge, a randomized main mission at Ultimate difficulty, and the Lone Wolf Challenge, a progressive training series with scaling rewards. Clan systems allow players to pool resources and upgrade shared facilities for additional benefits.
Touch Controls and Controller Support Included
The mobile version launches with an integrated bootcamp tutorial to familiarize players with touch controls. For those preferring traditional input, The Division Resurgence supports Bluetooth controller connectivity, enabling a console-like experience on mobile hardware.
Ubisoft has committed to post-launch content, though specific details remain unannounced. The free-to-play model removes barriers to entry, allowing the franchise’s established fanbase and newcomers to experience Division gameplay without upfront cost.
