Kingdom Hearts Gear Lands in the Loot Pool
The collaboration brings Sora’s signature weapons and items straight into matches. Players can now wield the Kingdom Key, which offers melee combos and a shocking bolt attack, while the Sea Salt Ice Cream grants a health and shield burst for the user and nearby teammates. Rebecca’s Guns round out the set with a dual wielded Assault Rifle and SMG combo, and the Exotic version adds ricocheting bullets.
Loot Hacks also got a refresh with new hackable weapons:
- Hyperburst Pistol
- Mammoth Pistol
- Reaper Sniper Rifle
- Deadeye DMR
- Flowberry Fizz
- Rocket Ram
Zero Build mode picks up new Pocket Item options too, including the Shield Keg, Rift To Go, and Shield Bubble Jr, giving teams more utility to work with.
New Overrides and a Climbing Objective
Two new Match Overrides are live. Recovery grants healing orbs on eliminations, while Level Up hands squad members a Mythic Kingdom Key. The Dynamic Storm now closes faster once fewer players remain, and Super Shot and Big Boom round out the override options.
A new mid match objective called the Tetris Tower challenges players to climb for rewards. Four new Sprites have also been added, including the #DesignASprite winner Pond Sprite, along with Crash Bandicoot, Blinky, and Birthday Sprites. Extracting 30 Sprites unlocks a Pixel Sprite Trainer Back Bling, and Cheat Code rarity drops have been rebalanced to make Sprite hunting more rewarding.
North America Gets a Unified Matchmaking Region
Epic rolled out a new matchmaking system aimed at improving latency. Players can now pick a preferred subregion in real time, and the system will widen its search automatically if that choice would mean a longer queue. Choosing Auto is still the recommended setting for most players.
The bigger structural change merges NA-West, NA-Central, and NA-East into a single NA region, which should mean faster queues and fairer matches for players in North America. Ranked matchmaking stays separate for now, keeping the NA-West and NA-Central split intact. Bug Fixes and This Weekend’s Power Hour
The update clears out a long list of bugs. Sidekick Quests no longer reappear after completion, the Chrome Punk Outfit’s head color issue is fixed, and the Lush Life Emote’s audio problem has been resolved. Anyone who bought the Lush Life Emote can now refund it without spending a Return Ticket.
Platform specific fixes cover Mobile, PC, Battle Royale, Fortnite OG, and Save the World, while LEGO Fortnite received adjustments to driver’s seats and buildable pieces. Players looking to jump into the crossover early can join KINGDOM HEARTS Power Hours this Saturday, September 19, starting at 2 PM ET, where everyone spawns in with a Kingdom Key and Sea Salt Ice Cream already in hand.
