Minecraft Update 3.42 Delivers Bedrock 26.33 Hotfix to PS4
Minecraft players on PlayStation 4 can now download a targeted hotfix that addresses a persistent visual bug affecting custom block rendering. The patch, appearing as Update 3.42 on PS4, brings the Bedrock Edition up to version 26.33 and is already live as of July 9, 2026.

What’s in the Update

This hotfix focuses on a specific texture rendering issue that plagued custom blocks. The main fix resolves texture bleeding on custom blocks using automatic block face UV assignment with undersized textures. In practical terms, if you were using custom content with smaller textures, they should now display correctly without unintended overlap or distortion.

Beyond the texture fix, Bedrock 26.33 includes general performance and stability improvements across the board. It’s a relatively small download, designed as a quick patch rather than a major content update.

Community Issues Remain

While this hotfix tackles one specific problem, the Minecraft Bedrock community continues reporting a range of other bugs. The official Minecraft Bug Tracker, known as Mojira, shows an extensive list of ongoing issues that players have documented.

Common complaints include graphical glitches like corrupted cushion textures and missing baby fox textures. Gameplay mechanics also have problems, such as goat horns not breaking randomly or cushions not placing correctly on sideways chains. Network issues persist too, with some players reporting worlds exported as 0 bytes.

Players also report issues with “weird grass” visuals, Vibrant Visuals not disabling properly, extreme lag in multiplayer worlds, and custom skins failing to load. The breadth of reported bugs shows the challenge of maintaining Bedrock Edition across multiple platforms.

What Players Should Know

If you’ve been experiencing custom block texture problems, this update should resolve those issues. For other reported bugs, Mojang Studios is tracking them on Mojira. If you’re encountering issues, it’s worth checking the official bug tracker first before submitting a new report to avoid duplicates.

The frequent update cycle for Bedrock Edition means fixes arrive regularly, but new issues sometimes emerge alongside them. Keeping your game updated remains the best practice for staying on the latest build.
