Samsung plans 6 Galaxy Z phones in 2027, including a slide model
A new leak suggests Samsung is preparing six Galaxy Z phones for 2027, double the three it brought out this year. The list includes a new sliding model called the Galaxy Z Slide, which would trade the hinge for a screen that extends on demand. Samsung has not confirmed any of it.

The claim comes from tipster Anthony (@TheGalox_), who posted the alleged lineup on X on . 9to5Google reported the leak a few days later.

Three Fold 9 Variants, a Second TriFold and a Slide

According to the leak, the 2027 lineup would include:

  • Galaxy Z Flip 9
  • Galaxy Z Fold 9, in standard, Ultra and Pro versions
  • A second-generation TriFold
  • The Galaxy Z Slide, a new device with a flexible screen that slides or rolls out instead of folding

The tipster also says the TriFold 2 would arrive first, though no launch date or schedule came with the post. That would be a wide expansion from this year, when Samsung introduced the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 at its July 22 Unpacked event. The Fold 8 Ultra, for reference, weighs 215 grams, opens to an 8-inch screen, measures 4.1 mm thick unfolded and carries a 5,000 mAh battery.

Earlier reporting points in a similar direction. ETNews, summarized by TrendForce in August 2026, also suggested Samsung was working on wide-fold projects, and described a possible five-model lineup.

The Slide Is Real as a Prototype, Not Yet as a Product

Samsung Display showed a Mobile Slidable concept at Mobile World Congress in March 2026. The prototype expanded vertically from 5.1 inches to 6.7 inches, so the basic idea works. It was a working demonstration, though, not a finished Galaxy phone, and Samsung has not said whether a commercial Z Slide would use the same mechanism or dimensions.

The timing is also contested. South Korea’s Money Today, cited in coverage of Samsung’s rollable-phone development, pointed to a commercial debut in the first half of 2028, a year later than this leak implies.

Hashlytics Take

Treat the six-phone number with caution, because the Slide is the weakest link in it. Two sources now disagree by a year on when a sliding Galaxy could ship, and what exists today is a display prototype rather than a phone with a battery, a chassis and a durability record. Three Fold 9 tiers and a TriFold 2 are far easier to believe, since they stretch hardware Samsung already sells. If a Slide appears in 2027 at all, expect it as a limited early product, not as a sixth pillar of the lineup. For anyone buying a foldable now, the Flip 8, Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra are the only phones with known specs, and nothing in this leak changes that.
