Camera and Video Upgrades
The standout hardware change is a wider selfie camera with an 85 degree field of view, letting it capture more people in a single frame. The camera automatically adjusts when additional faces enter the shot, which simplifies group selfies without users having to reposition manually.
On the software side, Photo Assist brings AI powered editing directly into the camera app. Users can add or remove objects, insert people into a shot, create stickers, and generate visual effects, including turning photos into caricatures or paintings.
Video gets similar treatment through AI powered reframing, which lets users select and focus on one person within a video. Akinrinlola pointed to this as particularly useful for content creators and sports fans who want to isolate a subject after recording. The phone also includes Super Steady Video with Horizontal Lock, which keeps footage level during movement and could reduce reliance on external stabilization gear.
AI Features Beyond the Camera
Samsung built AI into several other corners of the phone. Real time call translation and an Interpreter tool support cross language conversations, while Call Assist and Call Screening help manage unknown callers.

Specs and Longevity
The Galaxy S26 FE runs a 6.7 inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display at Full HD+ resolution, with an adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz. Under the hood sits Samsung’s Exynos 2500 processor, built on a 3 nanometre process, paired with 8GB of RAM. Nigeria gets the 128GB storage configuration.
Battery capacity lands at 4,900mAh, supporting 45W wired and 15W wireless fast charging. Samsung is backing the device with up to seven years of security updates, and it ships with Android 17 out of the box, positioning it for several generations of Android and One UI upgrades ahead.
Easier Switching, Broader Reach
Samsung also improved the onboarding experience for new users. Smart Switch now handles transferring files and eSIM information from older devices, and Quick Share can move content between Samsung and Apple devices, closing a long standing gap between the two ecosystems.
The Fan Edition line continues to serve as Samsung’s way of pushing flagship Galaxy features down to a wider price range and audience.
