Windows 11 June Update Boosts PC Speed & Adds Features
Microsoft has rolled out its June 2026 update for Windows 11, identified as KB5094126, bringing a meaningful performance boost alongside several genuinely useful features. Released on Patch Tuesday, the update makes the OS feel noticeably snappier while expanding what users can do out of the box, as reported by PCWorld.

Faster Response Times, Right Away

The headline addition is a new Low Latency Profile designed to cut down on the lag users feel during everyday tasks. When you launch an app or open the Start menu, the profile briefly pushes the CPU clock to its maximum for one to three seconds, smoothing out the stutters that have long nagged Windows 11 users. It’s a small but noticeable fix for one of the OS’s most common friction points.

What’s New in KB5094126

Beyond the performance work, the update ships four features worth knowing about.

Simultaneous webcam access: Multiple apps can now share access to your webcam at the same time. That means you can be on a video call while a second conferencing app catches an incoming call without either app losing camera access.

Shared audio via Bluetooth: Two people can now connect separate Bluetooth headphones to the same Windows PC and listen together. To enable it, open Quick Settings in the taskbar, tap Shared Audio, and select two supported paired devices.

Faster Windows Search: The built-in search now returns results with as few as two characters typed, down from the previous three-character minimum. A small change that adds up quickly for anyone who searches their files often.

NPU monitoring in Task Manager: On PCs with a dedicated NPU, Task Manager now shows per-process NPU usage. New optional columns on the Processes, Users, and Details pages surface both dedicated and shared NPU memory, giving users a clearer picture of how their AI hardware is being used.

What Build Number to Expect

After installing the update, your system will show build number 26200.8655 for Windows 11 25H2 or 26100.8655 for 24H2. Microsoft is rolling this out gradually, so not everyone will see it at the same time. If the features haven’t appeared yet, they should land within the coming days.

The June update also bundles new Secure Boot certificates, quietly strengthening the security foundation of Windows machines in the background.
