According to Hideaki Nishino, President of Sony Interactive Entertainment, live-service games offer significant potential for global reach. In an interview with Famitsu, reported by WccfTech, Nishino stated Sony believes these titles can attract a worldwide audience. The company intends to “revitalize the market through both first-party and third-party content”. This includes enhancing existing games and providing continuous new content.

Nishino confirmed that single-player games will remain a core first-party focus for PlayStation. However, live-service multiplayer games will primarily target PS5 and PC as their basic release platforms. This multi-platform approach could expand the audience for these titles.
