Pearl Abyss has released Patch 1.06.00 for Crimson Desert, now live across PC and consoles. This update introduces several highly requested community features, including expanded special mount options, an equipment extraction system, and an unexpected in-game gacha machine.

Crimson Desert’s Latest Update Goes Live

The latest update for Crimson Desert follows Pearl Abyss’s ongoing commitment to integrate player feedback, diverging from traditional development roadmaps. Despite missing the early weekend release window of previous major patches, this update brings significant quality-of-life improvements and new gameplay elements.

Expanding Mount Options and Introducing a Gacha Machine

Patch 1.06 significantly broadens the roster of Special Mounts available to players. You can now register a variety of creatures, including Bears, Boars, Wolves, Deer, Mountain Goats, Kuku Birds, Raptors, Camels, Lions, and Tigers, as mounts after subduing and feeding them. Pearl Abyss has also streamlined the Special Mounts mechanics by adding a dedicated tab in the Inventory Menu and decoupling saddles from their default appearance, making them purchasable from select shops.

Beyond mounts, the patch introduces new unarmed combat skills for Oongka, adds sheaths for swords, and a new Sigil of Valor item that enables pet dogs to attack enemies when equipped. 2. Interact with the smithy to open the menu.
3. Select the Extraction option.
4. Choose the equipment you wish to extract materials from.
5. Specify whether to extract for a single refinement level or revert the item to its base refinement level.

Note: The Extraction feature only affects the equipment’s refinement level and does not destroy the item itself. For instance, extracting an item refined to level 10 back to its base level 4 will recover materials used for levels 4-10, returning the equipment to refinement level 4.

The quantity of recovered items varies by type. Special materials like Artifacts and Aeserion’s scale are recovered at 100% of the amount used, while common materials such as iron ore, copper ore, and bloodstones are recovered at approximately 70%.
